Abstract

Professor Ayatollah Sheikh Javadi Amoli is considered as one of the leading scholars and interpreters of the Holy Quran in the current era. In light of his God given talent and his great effort in benefiting from prominent professors, he achieved high ranks in the intellectual and Non-intellectual sciences. He also raised many students in his school by presenting dozens of scientific works for science enthusiasts. Among his most important works we can name “Tafsir al-Tasnim” and “The Thematic Interpretation of the Holy Qur’an.” In his interpretive works, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli benefited from the guidance of eminent professors such as Allama Tabatabai (may God have mercy on him). In order to preserve the method of his teachers and develop to consolidate their valuable styles, especially the style of Allama Tabatabai, which was based on removing neglect from the Holy Qur’an and its unique teachings, His Eminence established the official chair of interpretation in the seminary of Qom. From this standpoint, he tried his best to alleviate the abandonment of the Holy Qur’an and play a prominent role in the flourishing of its heavenly teachings. Many students benefited from his great knowledge in this field. Thus, the lovers of the Divine Book gathered around him, forming teaching circles for his teachings. Since he is so eloquent and used sublime content in his methodology of interpretation, many passionate lovers of the Holy Qur’an was attracted toward him. In the last century, the scholarly and practical behavior of this great professor had a great impact on the growth of scholars in the Qom Seminary.
