Abstract

Quranic exegesis commenced in the early days of Islam under the guidance of the Prophet Mohammad (P) and continued through the traditions of the Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.). Over the course of fourteen centuries, scholars and interpretations emerged with various methodologies and perspectives, often accompanied by innovation. In the past century, within the Qom Seminary, Shia scholars and Quranic scholars have introduced significant innovations in the field of exegesis, particularly over the past eighty years with the efforts of Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Hussein Tabatabai. These innovations encompassed diverse methodologies, new perspectives, and innovative content. The valuable outcomes of these works have led to new interpretive activities, fields, and academic centers in this domain. This article examines the most important innovations in these areas over the last century within the Qom Seminary, employing a descriptive historical analysis method alongside field studies by the researcher.
