The Knowledge of God Almighty and Its Role in Creating and Strengthening Man’s Sense of Poverty and Need for Him: A Qur’anic Perspective

Abstract

This study adopts the descriptive-analytical approach, based on library studies and citing verses from the Holy Quran and reliable religious sources, to address "the role of knowledge of God Almighty in explaining the poverty and need of man for God Almighty as the Creator and the final cause of existence" within the framework of Islamic knowledge. The results show that knowledge of God Almighty is present in man innately as well as in religious teachings such as verses, where one can recognize the divine self, attributes, and actions as well as man's need for God Almighty. This stage plays a role in creating a feeling of poverty and need for God Almighty. After this stage, man contemplates everything more deeply, to the point that through clear rational and transmitted evidence such as the proof of the Siddiqis and the verses of companionship, he reinforces this feeling in himself that he does not own anything of himself and that God Almighty alone is the true refuge and source of his strength. The results show that the feeling of poverty and need for God leads to strengthening faith and spiritual connection with God and ultimately reaching the good life.
